WESTPORT Nurse M. McNeight, of the Westland Hospital staff, is visiting her parents at Mokihinui.
The Rev. C. H. Kendon (Westport) conducted Methodist services at Reefton on Sunday. Mr and Mrs I. S.' Davenport (Tientsin, North China) are visiting Westport. Messrs W. Aitken and G. Kelly (Christchurch) are visiting Westport during a tour of Nelson and the West Coast.
Mr and Mrs F. Bonifacio, Ashburton, are visiting Westport.
WESTPORT DREDGE FOR GREYMOUTH ? Questioned about the Marine Department’s reported decision to lend the Greymouth Harbour Board a dredge from Westport if required, Mr J. W. Curtis (secretary-manager of the department at Westport) said he had received no information of the proposal, and it was entirely news to him. He said that the only dredge that would be available would be the Maui, which was at present being overhauled at Wellington. CHILD SCALDED Damalcl Forsythe, aged two years three-months, of Walmangaroa, was admitted to the Buller Hospital on Friday night with severe scalds to the face, arms and shoulders. The child fell into a bath of hot water atahis home. He died last night. PORT OF WESTPORT WESTPORT, October 15. ■The American steamer Nome arrived to-day from Adelaide to take in a part cargo of coal for Pago Pago. The Cap Talifa left yesterday for Noumea. The Nikau is due on Monday from Wellington. PORT OF GREYMOUTH GREYMOUTH, October 15. The Waimea is expected to sail to-night with timber for Port Waikato. She will return on Thursday to load coal for Tarakohe. The James Cook is loading timber for Sydney and Newcastle. She will sail on Monday night. The Kauri left New Plymouth late last night for Greymouth and is due to-night. On Monday she will load timber for Melbourne and 'Adelaide. The Kartigi left Wellington last night for Greymouth and is due to-night. . On Monday she will load for Wellington and Miramar.
The Karepo is due on Monday from Auckland, via Portland, with cargo. She will load for Auckland and Portland. The Karu will leave Wellington on Monday for Greymouth and is due on Tuesday to load timber for Miramar. She will return to load timber for Petone, Wellington, and Miramar. The Hokitika will leave Wellington on Monday night with cargo for Greymouth
and Hokitika. She is due here on Wednesday morning. The Gael is due on Wednesday from Wellington to load for Jackson’s Bay. The Tees is due about Thursday from Lyttelton and Wellington. She will load timber for Wellington. The Alexander is due on Thursday from Nelson to load coal for return. The Rata is due about October 25 to load for Wanganui. The Poolta is due about-October 25 from Gisborne to load for Wellington. MR E. CHOLERTON.
