MAGISTRATES COURT

SATURDAY (Before Mr F. F. Reid, S.M.) INTOXICATED IN CHARGE

Donald Macintosh Lang, a farmer, aged 39, appeared on a charge of being intoxicated in charge of a motor-car, of having no driver’s licence, and of having no warrant of fitness. Mr D. K, Wanklyn, who appeared for Lang, said that the case had been described by the police doctor himself (Dr. F. L. Scott) as a mild one. He said the accused was a married man with four children. On the major charge the accused was fined £ls, his licence was cancelled until August, 1939, and endorsed, and on the other two charges he was convicted and ordered to pay costs. DRUNKENNESS.

Harry James Irwin pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness and was fined 20s, in default 24 hours imprlaonment.
