SOUTHAMPTON DOCKS CENTENARY

(BBITISa omciAi. OTZKJSLXSS.J RUGBY, October 13. Southampton to-day celebrated the centenary of its docks. The foundation stone was laid 100 years ago on a site of 216 acres bought by the original dock company for £SOOO. The authorised capital of the company was £350,000. The chairman of the Southern Railway Company unveiled to-day a memorial column only a few hundred yards from the foundation stone within The area of the docks extensions which the company recently completed at a cost of £10,000,000.
