YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB Always one of the most popular and enjoyable entertainments in the district, the annual ball held recently by the Darfield Young Farmers’ Club was an outstanding success The guests included representatives of the Christchurch district committee and the Ellesmere, Spnngston, Hororata, Dunsandel, and Teddington Young Farmers’ Clubs. The hall and supper room were effectively decorated with spring blossoms and spring flowers. During the evening the local president (Mr C. O. Kedfem) presented the club s stacking competition cup to R. Fechney. A novelty dance was won by Miss Davidson and Mr Ring. . Jackson’s dance orchestra provided the music, extras being played by M T rs L„V Johnston. Mr A. Hart, and L Johns. Messrs R. Stewart, B. Hayes. J. Gallagher, and H. » Mr and Mrs J. Marwick (Prestons road, Styx) entertained a number of friends at their home to honour Mr F. Ford and Miss C. Farrar, whose wedding will take place this week.
