X-RAY PLANT FOR AKAROA

HOSPITAL BOARD’S DECISION

An X-ray plant for the Akaroa Hospital, which has been sought by residents "of the district for a considerable time, will be procured for the Akaroa Hospital as soon as possible, according to a decision made by the North Canterbury Hospital Board yesterday morning. The report of the hospital committee recommended that the matter should be considered when next year’s estimates were being prepared. This was strongly opposed, however, by Mr R. A. Mould, who said that there should be no delay in procuring the plant. He protested against holding over the matter till next year. The chairman said he would take a vote on the matter, and it was decided that the plant should be obtained as soon as possible.
