COMPLAINTS FROM SUPPLIERS
MORE CREAM COLLECTIONS NEEDED
“VISIONS OF BETTER SERVICE”
“I have heard several complaints from our suppliers that insufficient cream collections are made during the summer months,” said Mr J. Harris at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Central Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., yesterday. “They say that if any of their cream is degraded, it is because it is left in cans over the week-end. We all know that it means more expense, but if extra collections are going to result in higher grading, I think they are fully justified.” The chairman (Mr G. Nairn) considered that three days was too long for cream to be kept in a can. During the whole of last season the company had nothing but the finest cream; but there
was always the point of the week-end collection.
“It may be difficult to organise, but I have visions of a better service this year,” said Mr Naim.
