A keen interest in the welfare of their own electorate was shown at question-time by some of the 250 who attended an address by Mr C. Morgan Williams, Labour candidate for Kaiapoi, last night. Of the few questions asked the speaker, three were concerned not at all with national policies, but with Kaiapoi’s own interests. One questioner asked if the Government was going to build_ a bridge over a creek in the district, another if the Government would see to it that Kaiapoi had two resident doctors, and a third asked the Government’s attitude to the town’s sewerage problems.
