CARGO STATISTICS FOR LYTTELTON An increase in the amount of tonnage handled at the port of Lyttelton last month compared with August last year was shown in a report of cargo statistics presented to a meeting of the Lyttelton Harbour Board yesterday. The total tonnage handled for the month was 72,373 against 66,928 last year. Imports for the month increased to 48,561 tons from 40,063 tons in August last year, but exports declined, from 20,743 tons to 23,497 tons.
