CONTRIBUTIONS FROM RAILWATMEN
BALLOT OF ENGINEERS* Association
Vum inoraiui tiuauaj WELLINGTON, September 1. .It is understood that the New Zealand Locomotive Engineers. Firemen and Cleaners' Association has decided to take a ballot among its members on the question of whether, the association should contribute £SOO to the funds of the New Zealand Labour Party. The association is affiliated to the New Zealand Labour Party but is not associated with the New Zealand Federation of Labour.
The Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, which last year gave £IOOO to the Labour Party's funds, is affiliated with both the Labour Party and the Federation of Labour The society also gave £IOOO to the “Standard” newspaper fund, the contribution being made this year. The New Zealand Railway Tradesmen's Association is also affiliated with both the Labour Party and the federation.
The society's contributions were made in addition to affiliation fees which amounted Jto approximately £ 600 to the Labour Party and about £4OO to the federation.
