CANTERBURY BEATS SOUTH

CANTERBURY

The annual friendly match between the South Canterbury sub-branch of the StBede’s Old Boys’ Association and the Canterbury branch was played a * _p*' Bede’s College, Northcote. yesterday. The ground was very heavy, but in spite of * greasy ball a fast and open game was played by both teams. The Canterbury branch beat South Oh* terbury by 10 points to 6. Tries scored for Canterbury by B. Gillespie Mtt B. O. J. Bradley. D. P. White converted - both tries. For South CanterbuiY.tng : were scored by J. O Connell and O’Sullivan.

Mr R. E. Dunne was referee. Both teams were the guests of the college after the match, and the South terbury team returned to Tunaru by excursion train last evening.
