BECKENHAM CRICKET CLUB
“Although no team was successful in winning a competition, the standard of cricket was maintained at a consistently high, level,” says the annual report of the Beckenham Cricket Club, which will be presented on Wednesday, September 7 at the twelfth annual meeting. Performances of merit mentioned in the report are:—Batting: D.N. Stokes, 101 not out v. West Old Boys, 124 not out v. Canterbury Cricket Association. Bowling; M. Heath, nine wickets for 26 v. Spreydon; E. Sibley, 50 wickets at an average of Q.B. In the juniors, D, Angus made 226 not out against Roslyn in about 170 minutes; S. V. Besley did a “hat trick” against Sydenham Council, and in the third grade R. A, Cooke did a “hat trick” against Mairehau.
The finances are sound, the financial statement showing a balance of £l2.
