SOVIET SUPREME COURT
FORMER SHEPHERD MADE PRESIDENT (Received August 18, 7.30 p.m.) MOSCOW, August 17. An engine-driver, a farmer, and a teacher are among the 20 People’s Assessors appointed to the Soviet Supreme Court by the joint session of the chambers. • M. Ivan Golyakov was unanimously appointed president of the Supreme Court. He was at one time a shepherd, and later was chairman of the military tribunal.
