CANARY SHOW
GRAND NATIONAL EXHIBITION RARE BIRDS ON DISPLAY The sixth New Zealand Grand National open exhibition of canaries, hybrids, budgerigars, British and foreign birds was opened in the Choral Hall yesterday. This is the first occasion on which the exhibition has been held in Christchurch. The birds on show were selected from the champions shown in all centres throughout the Dominion. . Among the exhibits are several kinds rarelv. if ever, seen in Christchurch. These include the West African starling, the turquoisine from Australia, Nyassa lovebirds, the Virginian cardinal, Pekin nightingale, the red-faced parrot-finch from New Guinea, gold-breasted waxbills, brownbacked grosbeaks.
