♦ DEATH OF PRINCE FRANZ I RECENT FEARS OF GERMAN ANNEXATION (Received July 26, 10 p.m.) LONDON, July 26. The death has occurred of Prince Franz I, of Liechtenstein, aged 84. He renounced the throne on March 31 in favour of Prince Francis Josef, aged 31. . . At that time the Diet, voicing the fears of the principality as a result of the annexation of Austria by Germany, passed a resolution m favour of independence and fidelity in the reigning house, and of adherence to treaties.
