JERSEY CATTLE CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING HELD AT RANGIORA TWO CUPS OFFERED FOR COMPETITION , A decision to offer one cup for the best Jersey cow to be paraded at the Christchurch show and one for the best Jersey sire to be paraded at the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s show at Rangiora was made by the North Canterbury Jersey Cattle Club at its annual meeting last evening. It was also decided to offer a prize for the best Jersey heifer cow to be paraded at the children’s show to be held in Rangiora shortly. Satisfaction with the club’s financial position was expressed by the chairman (Mr F. E. Martyn),' who remarked that as the assels exceeded those of last year it was right thst additional efforts should be made by the club to further the interests of Jersey cattle-breeding in the district by presenting trophies. The following officers were elected: Chairman, Mr F. E. Martyn; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. C. Prosser; auditor, Mr J. Ivory; committee, Messrs J. Whyte, P. Hack, L. D. Adams, C. W. Dodge, L. Fleming, and J. J. Hughey.
