MEASURES TO AVOID SLUMP

REPORT OF LEAGUE ECONOMIC

COMMITTEE

GENEVA, July 20.

A note of warning that another world economic crisis may soon arise, but that it can be delayed if suitable measures are taken, is contained in the report of the League's Economic Committee.

The report emphasises the downward trend of prices, in spite of the stimulus of armaments, yet there are reassuring features such as the relative stability of exchanges, the improvement in agriculture and the demands for capital replacement which should prevent the development of a crisis as grave as the last. The report urges creditor countries to avoid increased restrictions on weaker countries and to arrive at an equilibrium of prices and exchange with free markets.
