CANTERBURY CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS
DELEGATION TO SOUTHERN CENTRES A delegation, consisting of the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr R. M. Macfarlane), the president of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce (Mr W. S. Mac Gibbon), and the secretary of the chamber (Mr J. Roy Smith), will visit southern centres of Canterbury next Wednesday to discuss the provinces celebration of the centenary. The Mayors of Ashburton, Geraldine, Temuka, Timaru, and Waimate have been asked to receive the delegation, which will call on each Mayor in the course of the day. , ;i ~ _ ... The object of the visits. Mr Smith said last evening, was to discuss plans for the celebrations, finding out what were the views of other districts, and explaining what was proposed in the city. _____
