—The Christchurch water supply Is drawn from a large number of bores and the water varies in mineral composition according to the locality of the bore. The principal mineral constituents are chlorides, sulphates and carbonates of lime, magnesium, and sodium. The amount of lime (as calcium oxide) is about two parts per 100,000 parts of water.
