CONCERTS BY RUSSIAN BASSO
As great a favourite on the concerl platform as on the operatic stage, Alexander Kipnis, the brilliant Russian basso, will make two public appearances in Christchurch next week. Kipnis, who is under engagement to the National Broadcasting Service, will sing in the Civic Theatre on Monday evening and Wednesday evening.
The first section of an art set for schools from the Carnegie Institute of America has been received by the Ashburton High School. The full set, received by the New Zealand Council for Educational Research, was divided into eight sections for distribution to schools. Each school retains a section for one term.
