T. Bullock, the secretary of the association, that there was-no clause in the act which specifically covered the shooting of live pigeons. There was a clause to that ■effect, however, in a new Animal Protection Bill which the New Zealand Federation* of the Society? for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals : would endeavour to put, before the House. Penalties of a fine not exceeding £25 and of imprisonment not ex-ceeding-three-months, would-be asked for in respect of the clause should the bill become law. I
