NAZIS ANNOUNCE EARLY TRIAL
THOUSANDS IMPRISONED IN AUSTRIA

Herr Buerckel, head of the Nazi organisation in Austria, announced today that Dr. Schuschnigg was still in Vienna, and that he was unmarried. He indicated that Dr. Schuschnigg would shortly be tried fc implication in the hanging of 13 Nazis and the sentencing to death of 30 others. x , . Political prisoners throughout Austria totalled 3780. .. . Herr Buerckel added that ail tne property of the Habsburgs had been confiscated. . , ~ In March last it was stated that Dr. Schuschnigg would be tried m the Supreme Court in Leipzig, where Dimitrov and van der LubOe were tried for the Reichstag fire. He would, it was announced, not only be accused of intending to falsify the Austrian plebiscite, but would be held responsible for a miscarriage of justice in the trial ox Otto Planetta for the murder of Dr. Dollfuss, which was held while Dr. Schuschnigg was Minister for Justice. . A report of the former Chancellor’s marriage by proxy through his brother, Arthur, to the Countess Vera Fugger von Babenhausen was circulated in June, and was later denied. Herr Raoul Aurnheimer, former President of the Austrian Pen Club, has died in a concentration camp. He did not participate in politics, and the only possible explanation for his arrest was the dedication of a book to Dr. Schuschnigg.
CENSUS OF JEWISH PROPERTY
INFORMATION DEMANDED IN GERMANY BERLIN, June 30. The time expired to-day in which Jews throughout Germany must fill long questionnaires revealing their bank accounts, investments in real estate, jewellery, works of art, and other valuables. Jews in receipt of pensions must enter the total amount of their pension for the next 13 years. Thus many will appear to be prosperous, though they are practically without cash.
