INQUIRIES FOR CARPENTERS AND MILLHANDS
The placements for the week totalled 35, made up of 22 permanent positions and 13. temporary. The placements were varied, and included various trades and callings, and. farm hands, says the Placement Officer’s report. The present weather has curtailed the inquiry for classes of skilled labour on outside work. In spite of this the inquiry for farm workers continues and all inquiries for adult labour have been filled. Youths between 18 and 20 years are still required for farm and station work.' First-class teamster.' can be placed both locally and in other districts, including the North Island, and two teamsters were placed in the Waitaki district.
Inquiries are also 'being made for experienced timber-stackers and general experienced mill hands. An inquiry for 12 carpenters for the .West Coast is not jet filled.
