BRITAIN WOULD RESPOND TO INVITATION BY U.S. (BRITISH OITICUI WIRELESS.) RUGBY, June 22. In the House of Commons, the Prime Minister (Mr Chamberlain) .referred to the recent statement by Mr Cordell Hull, United States Secretary of State, that the United States was prepared to join other nations in moving resolutely towards bringing about an effective agreement on the limitation and progressive reduction of armaments. He added: “As I have already stated, Britain is in full agreement with these sentiments, and will neglect no suitable opportunity , of co-operating with the United States and other Governments to attain these objects.” In reply to a supplementary question, Mr Chamberlain remarked. “If ady invitation is addressed t us by the United States, we shall certainly respond to it.”
