NEW ZEALAND TEAM FOR SATURDAY RETURN MATCH AGAINST QUEENSLAND (UNITED PEESB ASSOCIATION —COPTEIGHT.) (Received June 23, 10 p.m.) BRISBANE, June 23. The New Zealand Rugby League selectors have decided on a reorganisation of the team for Saturday’s match against Queensland. Smith will play in the full-back position to allow Hemi to play at threequarters. Grotte will be half-back instead of Brimble, and either W. Brimble or Tittleton will be fiveeighths. ' Either Anderson or Satherley will replace Tetley, with Glynn in; the front row in place of Cootes. The manager, Mr Redwood, expects that the team will be more powerful than last Saturday. The personnel will be;— Smith, Brown, Chase, Hemi, Kay, Midgley (one: to be omitted); Tittleton or W. Brimble; Grotte. Glynn, Orman, McNeight, Brodrick, McLeod, Anderson, or Satherley. At training practice this morning the team concentrated on the scrummage and playing the ball, hoping to get more possession as a result of the altered interpretation of the play-the-ball rule.
Chase is Suffering from a slightly injured ankle after the Toowoomba match. *He did not run to-day, but expects to be fit on Saturday.
ALTERATIONS IN GROUNDS
Because of Sydenham Park and Linwood Park being too wet for football, the following alterations have been made in to-morrow’s Rugby League matches:—The senior grade game, Linwood v. Hornby, will now be held at Monica Park at 2.45 p.m., and in the third grade Woolston and Addington will meet on the same ground at 1.30 p.m. Linwood and St. Joseph’s, third grade, will play at Spreydon at 2.45 p.m., preceded by Riccarton and Sprey don. fourth grade, at 1.30 p.m. |
