Doubles Chrystal and Sharman beat Burtt and Corbett, 6-3, 6-4. Kear and Adams v. Lane and Potter, 6-4, 5-6, 3-2 (unfinished). Linwood won by five rubbers to nil. North Beach A v. Edgeware B Singles K. Hardie beat M. Hatch, 6-1, 6-1. M. McGillivray beat H. Neal, 6-4, 5-6, 6-1. D. Cormack lost to J. Strong, 4-6, 2-8. Doubles Hardie and Cormack lost to Hatch and Strong, 3-6, 6-3, 2-6. North beach won by 47 games to 40. Avonsidc v. North Beach B ' Singles V. G. Hill lost to G, Duncan. 5-6, 3-6. S. Kirk lost to R. Cattermole, 0-6, 0-6. L. Harrison beat R. Loach, 6-1, 6-5. B. O’Connell lost to M. Leake, 5-6. 3-6. Doubles Kirk and O'Connell lost to Cattermole and Leake, 2-6, 6-4, 4-6. Hill and Harrison beat Duncan and Loach, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. North Beach B won by four rubbers to two.

LONDON, June 17. In the semi-final of the women’s singles at the lawn tennis championships, Mrs Sperling beat Mrs Helen Wills-Moody, 8-6, 6-2. In the final Miss J. Jedrzejowska (Poland) beat Mrs Sperling, 6-3, 6-0.
