NO PUBLIC MEMORIAL TO HON. L. M. ISITT

CHURCH MEMBERS EXPRESS SURPRISE Surprise that no public move had been made to provide a permanent memorial to honour the Hon. L. M. Isitt was expressed at the annual meeting of members of St. James’ Methodist Church, Cashmere Hills. It was stated that a crayon portrait of Mr- Isitt had been unveiled in the schoolroom of the church recently, and that arrangements were being made to erect a memorial in the church. Members considered, however, that something more should be done, and fc a more responsible body than the Cashmere church, to record Mr Isitt’s long and unsparing service to both church and community. The memorials in St. James’ Church were regarded merely as a local tribute.
