Kingfisher Club Holds Concert Why, we are really beginning our club year. Already two clubs have held functions in aid of our Christmas Mission and Cholmondeley Home funds. The Coronation Club (No. 1), at Te Pirita, had a social some little while ago, and now the Kingfisher Club, Shirley, comes into prominence with a report of a concert which took place last Saturday. . As I am the club reporter for the Kingfisher Club I am writing in to tell you about the concert which we held last Saturday. “The concert was held in the Shirley Methodist Sunday School hall, and we sold 60 or so tickets, Which were printed for us. About 40 were present. At the interval we sold sweets and made more than 10s. Admission was 3d for adults and 2d for children, and Id more for reserved seats. Altogether we made £1 15s ejd. “As our members have worked so well we are having a party at the home of one of them, with 5s of our proceeds we wish to buy wool, etc., for making different things.”
Swallow Club, St. Albans
And here is news from the Swallow Club. Last year the. members of this club did outstanding work, and now' they are beginning again. The “Press reporter,*’ ’Mearn Stewart, sends news. She says: “The Swallow Club is once more busy. •We have two new members, which makes a total of six. We are busy preparing a surprise for you. It will not come for a few weeks yet, though. “Club members are: Edith Worrall, Mearn Stewart (leaders); Ngalre Munford (secretary); Zoe Stewart (treasurer); Noeline Poole, and Beverley Campbell.”
