SCOTTISH SOCIETY’S CEILIDH
LARGE ATTENDANCE AT MONTHLY GATHERING
The monthly Ceilidh of the Scottish Society was held on Thursday evening, when there was a large attendance of members and friends. Chief C. M. Telfer presided, and with mm were Chieftains A. Gray and D. G. Dickson. The programme was arranged by Cr. W. Armstrong and the secretary, Mr W. H. Mathison. Miss Alice Gibb was accompanist, and Pipe-Major McUachlan. piped for . the Highland dancing. Mesdames Armstrong and Mathison were hostesses. The music for the dance which followed was supplied by Mrs Creagh. The following items were given:?— Society's ode. Miss Betty Munro; selection, society’s pipe band; Highland reel, society’s pupils; songs. Master A. McDougall; eccentric dance. Master A. Chisholm; duets. Misses Murie and Kelly; recitation, Mr J. Plewellen; tap dance. Miss Jean Chisholm; double sword dance, Misses Joyce Wimsett and Yuline Graham; recitation, Mr J. B. McNeill; Highland fling, society's pupils; Sean Triubhais, Miss Cathie Simpson; Irish jig, Misses Annie Miller and Prill Smith.
