WRESTLING

BIG BOUT NEXT WEEK

Two of the favourites of the current wrestling season will be seen in action in the match which is to take place in Christchurch next Wednesday night. They are “Irish” Jack Kennedy, whose thrilling performance against “Lofty” Blomfleld will not be forgotten by the local crowd for a long time, and ■ Pat Fraley, the “Singing Cowboy,” who also created a particularly line impression when he had his first match here. The Christchurch crowd had to see Fraley in action only once to realise that he was the kind of wx'estler who could not be asked to appear in front of them too often, and nothing could cause more general satisfaction than the fact that his next bout here is to be against the man, who proved against Blomfield that no opposition can be considered too dough for him. Fraley is of as fjne physique as any wrestler ever seen in this country, and his unbeaten record causes him to take lop place among his present rivals. If there is one roan who is liable to beat Fraley, it is the rugged Kennedy, always lighting fit, and ready to throw everything he has into his performances. Kennedy not only has an elbow jolt to match with the dangerous variety carried by Fraley, but can also execute the flying toe-hold that is Fraley’s principal stock-in-trade.
