“WILL BE POWERFUL COMBINATION” SYDNEY COMMENT ON ALL BLACK SELECTION {ujnxßo rasas assocutioh —coptbioht.) SYDNEY, June 17. The Sydney "Morning Herald,” commenting on the selection of the All Blacks, states: “The team should be equal, if not superior, to many of the great New Zealand teams of the past Brilliant backs and strong, rugged forwards, aided by ah admirable blending of youth and experience, suggest that the All Blacks will be a powerful combination. This is the opinion of Australian international players who have played against the selected players both in Australia and New Zealand.”

this was actually what George Duncan did to Abe Mitchell in 1920. Mitchell had a lead of 13 strokes from Duncan at the end of the first 36 holes, but Duncan finished four smokes in front of him, and won the championship.
Rain-Soaked Courses The heavy rain over the last weekend left the courses in a more sodden condition than they have been for some months. The committees of some of them have been thinking of ways to combat the continued heavy state of the fairways, and at Shirley on Wednesday two of the holes had to be left out in a women’s match. The flooding at the eleventh is at its worst at present, and some of the old wooden drains in various parts of the course are being cleaned and reconstructed. Though Shirley has made no definite move about entering for the in-ter-club competition, the matter is being consldpred. The club had arranged a private match against Harewood for last Sunday with 12 men a side, but this was postponed through the weather. It would have been interesting to have seen the results of that match, as Harewood has probably the strongest club team at present.
