JUNGLE ADVENTURE

“Tarzan’s Revenge,” which is coming shortly to the Crystal Palace, rer lates how the lord of the jungle is aroused from a simple primitive desire to protect an American hunting party from the perils of the African forests, and how the very beasts they set out to trap are rallied to the rescue of the woman Tarzan loves. This picture takes on particular interest because the title role is played by Glenn Morris, the perfect Tarzan, in the first of the new series filmed by Principal' Productions. . At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, where he won the 10-unit decathlon event, Morris was crowned the world’s greatest all-round athlete, and in his first picture he uses every device of the perfection of human muscle, and gives a convincing demonstration of his prowess, swinging through the treetops among the wild beasts of the jungle or battling singlehanded with bands of native warriors. Eleanor Holm, America’s glamour girl' and famous swimming champion, starred with Morris, also makes her screen debut as the mate of. the jungle king. She is the central figure in many of the picture’s thrill-filled moments. The cast also includes George Barbier, C. Henry Gordon, Hedda Copper, and hundreds of other players. As the stoz-y opens a safari of white travellers, bent on securing rare animal specimens, plunges into the depths of the jungle, and it is here that Eleanor Holm first becomes acquainted with Tarzan. Their friendship ripens as Tarzan stealthily follows in the tree-tops to protect the safari from attacks by his wild companions of the jungle. The story reaches a climax of thrilling activity when the girl is kidnapped by warriors of the native chieftain. “Tarzan’s Revenge” sets new standards in the field of African adventure drama, and brings to the ■ screen the perfect Tarzan and his perfect mate. “In Old Chicago," which is being transferred to the Crystal Palace today, has a new supporting feature in “This Marriage Business.” What a wide-awake press agent can do in the way of booming tha marriageJicence

Two New Stars in “Tarzan’s Revenge”

business in a sleepy little town forms the entertaining basis of this comedydrama, with Victor Moore in the top role. Moore, however, is not the press agent. He is the kindly old county clerk, none of whose wedded couples ever lapsed into divorce. Allan Lane is the publicist, a New York journalist, who learns of this unusual record, and who spreads the news far and wide—with hilarious results.
