De’il the yin!” Again the Home of Champions THE TIMARU PIPE BAND NEWS ITEM: {Translated by our own special interpreter) “The Timaru Pipe Band again carried off the honours against aU comers at th* National Contests. As winners of the Dominion Championship they have added a further laurel to the already famous gallery of Timaru Champions. Many a Sassenach is now asking whether Timaru makes the Champions or the Champions make Timaru. We say both . Pipers Tam and Ru acquitted themselves well at the Contest, and gave a vivid demonstration of an uresistiblelorcc meeting an immovable mass when they arrived simultaneously at rite bar. When the time came to pay, Tam fainted and Ru earned him out. Hence those immortal words, “O wa’d some power the gif tie gie ns to flee panels before they see us.” In conclusion, heartiest congratulations to the Pipes and Drums earn Tiger’s Milk. “Here's tae us, wha’s like us—de'U the yin!” Timaru THE STVff TO HOT VP THE TROOPS fSS£SSs» Brewed amt Bottled with loving care by NEW ZEALAND BREWERIES LUX, Tiaara
