MANY VESSELS REPORTED IN DISTRESS MARQUEES AT EPSOM TORN TO RIBBONS V'' ' (Received June 2, 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, June t The fiercest Juno Pale in living memory, reaching at times a force of 100 miles an hour, accompanied ■by rain and thunder, is sweeping the Channel and southern England. Tremendous damage is reported. Lifeboats at points dh the coast have gone to the assistance of distressed vessels. Several are ashore at Deal and Dover, where a cloudburst occurred. After being flooded to a d'-pth of two feet, marquees on the Epsom racecourse were torn to ribbons, and bookmakers’ stands were Wrecked.
