OBITUARY
MR LEONARD Y. SAMUELS \ Mr Leonard Vickeres Samuels, until recently postmaster at Amberley, died at Christchurch yesterday morning. He was 52 years of age. Born in Christchurch, Mr Samuels was a son of Mr Charles Samuels, undertaker. He attended the Sydenham School, and in 1901 joined the Post and Telegraph Department as a cadet. Mr Samuels was appointed postmaster at Kahukura (now known as Tikitiki) in 1918, and, after two years in that position, he returned to Christchurch, receiving the appointment of postmaster at New Brighton in 1922. He was transferred to Amberley in 1928, and was given leave last September because of ill-health. Mr Samuels is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Olive Mackie, and one son, Mr T. V. Samuels (Christchurch),
