DOG TRIALS
• ——-♦ —: — GLENROY COLLIE CLUB The season’s sheep dog trials were continued yesterday, when the twentieth annual competitions of the Glenroy . Collie Club were held on Mr J. Kennedy’s farm at Glenroy,, near- Coalgate. The' day was beautifully fine, and there was a good attendance of "district, people, and also a first-class. exhibition of work by the competing dogs. The judge (Mr J. Wilson) considered that the display in the first class—the long, pull—was about the best he had seen in his experience, a big proportion of :the! dogs: doing high grade work. This class was just completed by nightfall. The details are as follows:—' CLASS I—Long Pull' and Head in . Ring. Time, 8 minutes, ■ E. M. Relph's Storm, 57J points , .. 1 J. B. Queale’s Roy, 57 points ~2 H. White’s Gale, 56J points- • , .. 3 District, run in-conjunction—H. White’s Gale, 56J points, 1; A. E. Benbow’s Guy, 56 points, 2; H. White’s Frisk, 55 points, 3. Maiden—A. E. Benbow’s Giiy 17 W. T. Williams’s Kep 54J points, 2,' C. Richards’s Rain, 54 points, 3. The trials- will' be continued to-day,' when the heading’and yarding event will be run off. and It is expected that this will be completed in time to allow a start to be made with the huntaway class. In both classes there are good entries particularly in thehuntattfay.
