LAMB MARKET EASIER

i Overseas conditions have had a profound effect on the Stock Exchanges of New Zealand and Australia, and the market in general has been lower this week. Metals and most commodities except wool have moved downward and have dragged share prices with them. Trading on the New Zealand exchanges was fairly brisk, but was mostly done at the expense of sellers. The demand for lamb at Smithfield has slowed down and a further slight easing in prices is reported. Wethers and ewes are slow to move, but prices are unchanged. Chilled beef values have improved. At Bradford the market is quietly firm, with no business.
