PARISHIONERS’ MEETING
* ST. AUGUSTINE’S, CASHMERE HILLS The annual meeting of parishioners of St, Augustine’s, Cashmere Hills, was held in St. Augustine’s Hall, Cashmere Hills, on Wednesday. The vicar, the Rev. Canon Norris, presided over a fair attendance. Reports from nine organisations in the parish showed that the church’s work had been well maintained. In presenting the statement of accounts the parishioners’ warden, Mr P. Ladd, reported that the financial position was very satisfactory. Receipts for the year were £743 14s 9d, and expenditure £827 15s 6d; the latter amount including £175 repaid to the organ fund. For extra parochial objects £133 15s 9d had been given, and the parish had fulfilled its quotas for home mission, Maori mission, and Melanesian mission funds. The following church officers were elected: —Vicar’s warden, Mr A. C. Andrews; parishioners’ warden, Mr P. Ladd; vestrymen, Miss M. Walker, Mrs H. Wales, Dr. H. D. Broadhead, Messrs A. J. Derbidge, J, S. Inwood. C. B. Mackisack, C. Miln, and L. W. Harman. Mr P. H. Harris was reelected auditor. The vicar explained to the meeting the church’s rule and the procedure by which an exchange had been arranged (not by himself) with the vicar of Geraldine, and expressed for his wife and himself their hearty thanks for the happy and friendly relations with the parishioners throughout the last 15 years.
