FAREWELL SOCIAL AT KIRWEE

Mr A. C. Francis, of • the Post and Telegraph staff, Kirwee, who has been transferred to Ashburton, was the guest of honour at a farewell social in the Kirwee hall recently, Mr _G. Begg presiding. Music for dancing was played by Messrs A. Hart and S. Syme. Mr Desmond Begg gave an item. Mr S. Hart was master of ceremonies. For the residents and those present, Mr Begg presented Mr Francis with a substantial cheque. Mr Smith, for the railway staff, Mr R. McKercher (Kirwee Football Club), and Mr R. Bedford (Kirwee ■ Tennis Club) endorsed Mrßegg’sremarlu,
