LICENSING OF TRANSPORT
SITTING OF NO. 8 AUTHORITY Three applications affecting goods transport licences were dealt with by the No. 3 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr T. H. Langford) yesterday. The application of' Radcliffe and Harris, of Governor’s Bay, to amend their time-table to enable them to operate their passenger service between Governor’s Bay and Teddington as required instead of to a fixed schedule was granted. It was stated that on many trips there were no passengers offering. The applicants also asked for permission to charge full fares for children not accompanied by adults, but the authority said he would not consider this. No objection being made by the Railway Department, James Simpson, of Southbridge, was granted a seasonal licence to carry football teams only. * ■ Joseph Harrison, jun., of Glentunnei (Mr P. P. J. Amodeo), was granted an extension of his goods service licence for the Selwyn County to Glentunnei, Whiteclifls, and Coalgate stations, the Coalgate saleyards, and the Klondyke and Stevenson coalmines in the Malvern County.
