SALE OF PEDIGREE HORSES

TOP PRICE, 150 GUINEAS AT ASHBURTON

A sale of pedigree Clydesdale horses and unregistered draughts was held at Ashburton yesterday by Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd., and Wright, Stephenson and Company in conjunction. The entries which totalled more than 60 head, included 17 pedigree Clydesdales from Mr C. Hale's Fair view stud at Lyndhurst. The top price was 150 guineas for the entire Willowpark Lochiel, sold on behalf of S. Crosson (Lagmhor) to P. F. Hogan (Hawera). This horse was a feature of the sale. There was a good representation of buyers from many parts of New Zealand, particularly the North Island. Sales were:—

Lowery (Tinwald), mare, two years, Greenlea Rose Dy Douglas Credit—Mains Heather BeU VII, 30JI gns, to client; mare, two years, Greenlea Mabel, by Douglas Credit—Windermere i Buchlyvie Girl at 36gns, to client. On account of J. Crawford (Lagmhor), mare, five years, Ealaine, by Brunstane Duplicate—Cobden Jean, at 46gns, to W. McDonald; colt foal, 17 gns, to A. Amos (Wakaniu). On account of S.
