urgent demand* of flood sufferers in isolated areas in Hawke's Bay. Reports show that the system of transmitting messages by. ground signs has been effective, and daily surveys by the Baffin Government aeroplane and by machines from the Hawke's Bay and East Coast Aero Club, and by private aeroplanes, are resulting in the relief of isolated distressed families. Considerable service has been given by members and the ground staff of the Aero Club, and by private owners of machines, and a very wide field has been covered. _■■ Logs show that so far 6000 miles have been covered in aerial relief work.
