PARISHIONERS' ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Papanui was held on Thursday night, the vicar, trie Rev. E. A. Osmers presiding oyer an attendance of about 90 P Mr W? S A.' Wilson, people's warden, in presenting his annual report, said that the last year had been a most successful one. All the church organisations at St. Paul's, Papanuijbt. James', Harewood, and St. Silas, btyx, had been very active. Improvements had been made to the interior of the Sunday school, and it was hoped to make further improvements in painting the Sunday school and in improving the sanctuary and nave of the church. The "circulation of the parish magazine had been increased. The financial statements of the three churches were very satisfactory. Mr Wilson moved a vote of thanks to Mr Osmers for his work. . „ , . , Mr Osmers thanked all who had assisted in the various organisations of the parish. He made special mention of the successes of the. scout troop which had won the Fuller Fire Banner and the Camping Competition cup. Votes of sympathy were passed with the relatives of Mesdames W. Hodgson, Lord, and Hudson, and Messrs C. T. Read and W. R. Hockey. The following were elected to the vestry: Messrs Cartner (vicar's warden). Wilson (peoples' warden). D. Marshall. E. Eggleston. G. W. Matthews. D. Merritt, H. Geers, S. Halliwell. B. Tomkies, W. Wallace. R. Clark; and R. Jones. . ■ Items were given by the choir-boys during the evening.
