[THE PRESS Special Service.) WELLINGTON, April 29. The weather forecast for Canterbury md Marlborough, issued at 5 p.m. by *e Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Fresh to strong winds, between math-west and south-east. Weather cloudy to overcast and misty, with further rain. Temperatures colder. Sea rather rough. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Moderate to strong- south-west-erly to south-easterly winds. Weather cloudy to overcast, with farther rain, but improving during the day. Temperatures colder. Sea rather rough to rough. DOMINION The following is the Dominion foreeast:— Changeable in the north, with scattered showers; cloudy to overcast from Taranaki and Hawke's Bay southwards, with further rain and some heavy falls in central areas and in parts of Canterbury. Conditions improving to-morrow in western districts. Temperatures becoming cooler. A rather deep secondary depression was centred near Nelson this afternoon, and pressure is high over Eastern Australia and the northern Tasman Sea. . Winds—Moderate to fresh southwesterly north of Kawhla and Tauranga, and moderate to strong southwesterly to south-easterly south of Westport and Kaikoura. Elsewhere strong northerlies at first, but backing by to-morrow morning to southerly or jouth-easterly. Seas (New Zealand waters)— Moderate in coastal waters on parts of the east coast, but rising to-morrow. Elsewhere mainly rather rough- to rough. Eastern Tasman Sea—Fresh to strong south-westerly winds and rough seas.

CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER

Light rain fell throughout the day In Christchurch yesterday. The weather was cold and there was a south-westerly wind which became stronger as the day advanced. The maximum temperature was 59.1 degrees and the minimum temperature 58.9 degrees. At 1 o'clock this morning: the sky was overcast and a light westerly wind was blowing:.
