Mr McPherson gave Gordon a I copy of his own work on horticul-

ture and invited him to the Botanic Gardens to see some of the work done in the hot-house 9 there. He also presented Peter Glen, another young competitor, with a copy of the same work. A party of young "Press Ship" gardeners is to visit the Christchurch Botanic Gardens in tha springtime, when some helpful advice will be given by Mr McPherson, who is very interested in "Thm Press Ship" work. ,
