TJie Gazette announces the appointment of Colonel E. Puttick as honorary aide-de-camp to the Governor-General, to succeed Colonel I, T. Standish.—Press Association. Mr H. E. Herring, M.P., was a passenger from the north yesterday morning by the steamer express, Mr H. C. Hassall was an arrival -from the north yesterday morning. The Gazette announces the appointment of Mr G. M. A. Pouquet as Acting-Consul of France at Auckland.—Press Association. Mr C. A. Deyell will leave Auckland on May 9 by the Awatea for Sydney on the first stage of a tour abroad.
