CANTERBURY MANUFACTURERS* ASSOCIATION

The monthly meeting of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, Women’s. Auxiliary, was held in the cosy corneribf the; Young Men’s Christian Association’s -building. Mrs_ W. H. Cattell (yice-pres3dent) presiding, in the unavoidable absence of Mrs C. S., McCully, president. I Mrs S. L. Wright read a number of poems pf her own composition dealing,

with local beauty spots and surround* ings. The members . expressed sincere appreciation and admiration of Mrs Wright’s ability and kindness. Mrs M. Cordy continued an address which she had given on a previous occasion to members, and gave a vivid and interesting, description of her recent visits to England, Scotland, and Germany. Miss F. I* Cooper (secretory) solicited the interest and 'assistance of members for the competitive Home Industries Section, of the New Zealand Industries Fair, to be held in August Miss Cooper announced that schedules will be available next week, and that new classes have been introduced this year in order to keep up with the trend pfmcyiern times.'
