“INDICATION OF ORIGIN A MATTER FOR N.Z. ”

LONDON, April 11.

The Secretary to the Department of Overseas Trade (Mr Euan Wallace), speaking in the House of Commons, in reply to a question by Mr Ellis Smith (Labour), said that whether New Zealand should require imported pottery to be marked with an indication of the country of origin was a matter for the Government of New Zealand.

Pottery imported by Britain was already required to bear an indication of its origin.
