AMALGAMATION OF TWO BODIES
INTERNATIONAL CLUB AND ALL PEOPLES* UNION
SUGGESTION FOR CONFERENCE IN NEW ZEALAND
The amalgamation of the All Peoples’ Union and the International Club was decided on at a meeting of the two bodies on Monday evening. The new organisation will be known as the All Peoples’ Association (New Zealand), and steps will be taken immediately to affiliate with branches of the organisation in other countries. A suggestion was made that the association should take a lead in the calling of a conference of international friendship in New Zealand in 1840, when delegates would be invited from as many countries as practicable. The newly-appomted president (Dr. H. D. Broadbead) reported on work being carried out by* a committee representing the League of Nations Union and the All Peoples’ Association toward the establishment of an international house in Christchurch, where members of any international organisation and overseas visitors would have a united headquarters. In proposing Miss G. Meredith-Kaye ns the honorary president, Dr. Broadhead said that the All Peoples’ Association.owed its existence in New Zealand to Miss Meredith-Kaye, in whose home Ihe original meetings had been held. It was with very real regret that ho had fo say good-bye to Miss Meredith-Kaye, who was shortly leaving Christchurch.
The arranging of a syllabus and constitution was left to the incoming committee.
