NEGOTIATIONS IN ROME
FORMAL PRELIMINARIES COMPLETED BRITAIN TO GRANT RECOGNITION TO ITALY LONDON, April 10. The Rome correspondent of "The Times" states that, the Italian Foreign Minister (Count Ciano) . and the British Ambassador -(Lord Perth) have ended the formal negotiations for an agreement. The drafting committee will begin work to-day. The documents will consist of a protocol defining British and Italian relations, and stating that Britain will recognise the Italian Empire and. Italy will withdraw from Spain.
