SOCIAL AND PERSONAL Miss Alma McCallum (Sefton street) will leave on Tuesday to stay with Mrs James Hight (Christchurch). She will visit Hanmer later. Mr and Mrs R. G. PATIENTS AT RANNERDALE ENTERTAINED A very pleasant afternoon was spent at the St. James’ Park Croquet Club’s igreens. when the members entertained the patients and former patients of the Rannerdale home. The time was spent ifa competitions and recitations, wmch were much appreciated, and afternoon teh was served. The president of the.club. Mrs Synje. welcomed the men, and she called on the j captain, Mrs Rhodes-Williams, to present the prizes. Mr Preston, the representative of the home, was asked to accept, on behalf of the men who were unable to attend and the matron and nurses, a large basket of fnnt and sweets! Mr Preston, on their behalf, returned thanks. The prize-winners were:—Clock gou. Mr Cainpbell and Mr Orchard. Tunnel: Mr Cholraondeley and Mr J. Saussey, Cariss cross: Mr C. Preston and Mr Orchard. Golf croquet: Mr Campbell anid Mr J. Saussey. Target: Mr Campbell and Mr T. Hassell. Quoits. Mr C. Preston and Mr Saussey. Lucky number! Mr Claridge and Mr McClatchy.
